Specializations
PLEASE NOTE: As of the Academic Year 2013-2014 the Academic Structure has changed and will NOT have Specializations.
To see the current structure of the CSIM Program please check the Academic Structure and Syllabus sections.
The master program is structured around a main common block of modules and courses that all students will follow. Subsequently the student can follow one of two specializations:
-
Specialization in Design, Scripting and Analysis of CSIMs:
This specialization has been developed for those students that wish to finalise their master with a stronger focus on the content and structure of CSIMs. It comprises courses that have a stronger influence from audio-visual communication, linguistics, journalism and humanities.
Although it would be reasonable to suppose that students whose background is in any of these disciplines would follow this specialization, it could well be the case that students with a more science and technology background might wish to cross over to the complementary specialization in order to strengthen their interdisciplinary understanding of CSIMs. -
Specialization in Cognition, Technology & Integration of CSIMs:
This specialization has been developed for those students that wish to finalise their master with a stronger focus on the science and technology aspects of CSIMs. It comprises courses that have a stronger influence from computer science, technology, engineering and cognitive science.
Although it would be reasonable to assume that students whose basic background is in any of these disciplines would follow this specialization, it could well be the case that students with a background in communication and/or humanities might wish to cross over to the complementary specialization in order to strengthen their interdisciplinary understanding of CSIMs.
