Referents
The following are examples of complex, large scale projects that are important referents for the CSIM master program.
| Ada: Intelligent Space an installation for the Swiss national exhibition Expo.02. A 180m2 interactive space embedded in a 400m2 exhibit that has attracted over 550.000 visitors from May until October 2002 (Eng et al, 2003). Ada has allowed us to investigate both fundamental and applied questions including: large-scale sensory integration in the context of ongoing goal-oriented behaviour the construction of the software and hardware technology that allows us to reliably run these large-scale real-world systems and the interaction and communication between humans and artefacts. |

| MEDIATE:(A Multisensory Environment Design for an Interface between Autistic and Typical Expressiveness) is a multisensorial interactive environment for children in the autistic spectrum. Through visual, sound and tactile interaction, this environment hopes to bring the opportunity to the children to express and have fun, both through the action of their bodies and through some physical elements which are touch sensitive. MEDIATE will provide the children the opportunity to create a world with sensations, shapes, colours and sounds of their own. |
